this weekend was fun :) so in case you were wondering about the party, i called everyone and basically no one likes deb anyhow. and i might get time and a half. maybe. well see. but greg said that deb def should know better. me 1 deb 0 ;-)
sat i went to dc to celebrate kirsten's b-day - she did 21 jello shots! iwas really glad to see her, and liz was there too. we talked about pv days...."did you just call me a spic?", stories sean told us and swore they were true, then when we told other people we got laughed at cause they were from a movie, leaving poor justin up in the chair while we went to play basketball....haha.
A little piece of advice from sat night tho - dont let bartenders "choose a drink" for you. NOT A GOOD IDEA. I ended up with soem horrible salty concoction with tequila. kirsten ended up with amystery drink everyone was afraid of. haha. i also told thiskid brendan that my mom could chug a beer faster than him...i dont think my mom appreciated that one, haha. (she really can - she can drink a beer faster than anyone i know, hands down)
went out to fridays again last night - minus the large alcoholic drinks with sara, sharon, mikey and krissy. it was nice to see that mikey was alive since he doesnt return my emails, calls, IMs....dork! jp haha. krissy is such a sweetheart tho, im gonna kidnap them while matts down here to goto Dave and Busters, g-town, ooh and the Spy Museum (cause me and mikey have yet to go!), and other sweet places to be disclosed later ;)
I also added my artsfest pics up to my personal site, along with my really old pics from HS and freshman year at PSU. I only got one partial night's worth of pics tho :( i'll do better once I get up to PSU for good :)
Stop bringing up the same thing to everyone. you're not getting any sympathy, and it makes you look like a brat. get over it and stop acting like you're 10. plus you obviously dont know the difference between what you think is going on in your little world vs. what is really going on in reality.
Gretchen's comments aren't working but i have to comment on her blog today., about the yankees/ red sox and politics. Now, I dont know much about baseball, but dont the (MA people dont get offended, I do like the Red Sox, honest) Red Sox have a history of losing all the time, especially to the Yankees? Now why would any democrat make a reference that they are like a team that has had a history of screwing up and losing all the time? (note: this is my first and only reference to politics in my blog - im following miss manners rules for content here just wanted to point out yet another reason to keep politics out of your blog. plus they're really not fun to read - people want to hear about DRAMA kids! i'm talking total psycho stuff - thats the best.)
yay for a 14.5/15 on my paper for english! if i get an a in this class im going to be so excited. and she said i had a "elegant and sophistacated writing style" take that Mrs. Barrett and Ms. Martin and that other blonde lady in HS who always gave me 2's (except one time i *did* get a 4 on my in-class writing assignment on that james joyce book i def never read...or opened mua hahahah)
sometimes i miss the shenanagans from hs - chem with mr kroeger, kaveh and me being the last ones to turn in journals....3 weeks late, and mr mannina "did we go over this already?" "birfday" but then i remember the crap that went along with it and glad i got the hell outta there
long blog - sorry gretch isnt here to chat with

i gotta vent
hey deb, how bout next time you bring 75 brats you call the "swim team" into the pool you actually *tell*, oh, i dunno, the manager, ? or at least someone ? We had 50 people in the pool for exactly 20 minutes this year, not counting today. So I was a little surprised when at 6:00 pm there are suddenly 60+ people actually in the pool and countless others on the deck. I tried to get lucious to come in for an hour - we could have really used him but we didnt reach him till like 7:30, and we closed at 8. I kinda feel bad, I left a long very angry message for CPS tomorrow. oops. i needed to yel lat someone and unfortunately it couldnt have been debbie preusse. i hope cps takes my suggestion and pays us party rate and charges the swim team. hmm i wonder if she ever found her keys....they were lying on the desk forever and then all of us saw them , but no one knew where they were. and we really didnt have time to actively look. thats why the guards dont leave stuff lying around - people come through the office, especially swim team who doesnt understand how to follow rules, and stuff like this happens.
i dont appreciate the fact that youre taking the fact that your summer sucks out on me. its not my fault that all your friends are no longer close to you and you've let all your relationships disentegrate. and you know whats going on because i can see the cognitive dissonance when you get defensive and angry at nothing, becuase you hear some trigger word and it makes you feel guilty. and i will not apologize because ive done nothing wrong. im tired of people. grow up. or at least act like a child somewhere other than around me. i already work around (mostly) whiney kids I sure dont need to add to it.
on a better note, sharon and sara came to the pool, it was a nice surprise cause irealyl didnt think theyd come. and a lady came up to me randomly and told me that I was an excellent guard :) nice to know someone appreciates "the mean guard" haha. also, last but certainly not least I got to chat with gretch, and even jay chimed in the conversation (prolly realized that he wasnt getting attention and needed some...jp jay haha :) ) and matt had a baby chat with gretch about the "hot trip" were taking.
its nice to see thay he gets along with my closest friends. that's so important. usually if your friends dont like someone, especially if they know you inside and out, there;s a reason even if you dont see it. I can look back at other peoples relationships (platonic and otherwise) and how i protested and got "...but is different denise". now, with hindsight which always seems to be 20/20, we see that that good friend whose always been by your side, who either silently or vocally protested that relationship was right all along. and you didnt see it, because it hurts to see that a relationship is failing and is nit right. Who wants to hear that they have a relationship with a loser? but in time, they see on thier own that the relationship needs to be severed, and who is there to confort you? your true friend. Thanks to those past and present who were there for me and now have nothing but good to say :)
oops, another vent. guess I better stop now. nite kids

oops - a little hiatus there.
Went up to PSU for artsfest. :) first bar tour, first monkey boy. second monkey boy. (one night) you can imagine how that night ended up. We went to the saloon saw andrew and later jim and my roommate erin. They make those crazy drinks called monkey boys. for all the wpi people who come across (i have a feeling like erin comes here...haha) my blog, monkey boys are pitchers where they fill it with ice, then hold about 7 different bottles of liquer over it. then they add flavors, like rasberry, cranberry, or bong water is the usual favorite, and hand it to you with a straw. and cherries. i love cherries, and plus i can tie the stems in a knot with m tongue :)
after that we went to visit mike zinda, then to sports cafe to meet up with paige. they couldnt make medori sours!! so i had the cheapo version - melon sour. then we went to the brewery to see boost play. I got a shout out and we drank beer out of mason jars. after the bars closed, we went to visit canyon pizza for perry cause he was hungry, then i went up to my old apt and drank the sublet's alcohol. i also was the hero for hailing us a cab...or running up to one and convincing the cabbie to let us ride along to gateway. haha. came home and harassed rook and caty for a bit.
saturday was obviously a rough one. went to visit the pool - the pointe cause theirs is chlorinated, and im a nazi when it comes to swimming in pools. i wont swim in mine unless the levels are over 3 marla and lisa were working, and they called us in to say hi. Went to Mad Mex with mike wyland and matt, and saw this kid tony that i havent seen in a while. then we came back to a very drunk herst. the highlight of the night was watching paige, duck, and boyer lift rooks car and move it onto the island thing. rook started screaming "thats my car? who moved it? where did they get my keys???" Then he realized that paige and his crazy strength must have moved it. so he watched paige and played beer pong while matt, mike wyland and duck moved it again. HAHA. rook moved his car and then couldnt find it himself later. went to sports cafe for a hot min and chilled downtown.
sunday was the last day of artsfest, so i wanted to make sure i got to see all the booths and all. we went down there and then got some kettle corn. then i came back and made a pit stop at wal-mart (sorry, gretch, cvs isnt open all night and at psu we have the super ones that have everything ) and bought stuff to entertain us while waiting for the movies to start. we got battle ship and new cosmo!! then we drove out to the drive in. i wasso excited to go - we dont have any here so its a real treat to get to go. plus in dc movies are like $9.75 each, so getting in and seeing two for $5 is awesome.
monday was running errands in state day, so i had lunch with matt and his co-workers at AI , then went running around. I got all of our stuff out of the apartment and gave the guys a 12 pack cause theyre stuck cleaning the place for move out. then i had to go deal with the stuff for my new apt, like getting the electric set up and all that. also deposited all my checks, and bought some rilled stickies for my mom :)
well its late, and tomorrow its back to the grind. but i couldn't not have something for gretch to read in the morning!!! you can only paint your nails so many times. haha. 3 1/2 weeks till i'm up there!! :)

someone is gonna have to be answering to God soon here... and it's not me (this time). we already had that discussion - he said it was cool cause "that bitch is crazy!" :-x

its raining again. and its freezing down in "the dungeon" where i work. ive got a sweatshirt and im still freezing. i got my new license!! its a front picture now :) (here in MD you get a profile "mug shot" type of deal till you are legal, then you have to get a new license that is a normal picture)
yesterday was the relay carnival @ jc. what a mess. first the kids found something we think was a hairless squirrel in the skimmers. all i know is that it had a face and legs. *shrudder* ugh. good thing kevin was there. yay for first year guards. all the kids from some swim team had red paint all over themselves and of course had to touch EVERYTHING white in the bathrooms. then when i was going through cleaning up after them i saw again this year someone left a "present" for us. im not really one for unclogging nasty stuff from toilets when these people should know better. so i told the swim team mother debbie that i had to close it cause i couldn't unclog it. she sent a guy in there to get it for me. on a side note, those femi-nazis dont know what theyre missing. im all for being a helpless female. guys can unclog toilets and do trash. ill clean and cook. i've never touched a lawn mower and i intend to keep it that way. (and for matt i can clean, i just choose not to haha)
anyway, by the time that was cleared up, someone puked on the deck. lucious kevin and i decided after that one we needed a break. so we went to bennigans. i had a medori sour. def needed it. and i still have 1/2 my sandwich for lunch today :)
we got back just as the last event finished. i came back to see kids climbing up on the lifeguard chairs and a ton of kids swimming in the pools. sigh. after we cleaned up, which i must give the swim team props cause they really did do a great job putting everything back and helping. then we swam for a bit - "lifeguard drills" haha. it was nice. i also discovered that the pool lights, they're nmot conencted to anything. we tried EVERYTHING to put them on and it def didnt work.
i want to list a few things i think should be ovbious when (eventually) you bring kids to the pool
* watch them. i am not a baby sitter. i am a lifeguard. i am there to save lives when they are in danger. your job as a parent/guardian is to keep them from encountering danger
* by watch them, i dont mean come to the pool and then read/talk on your cell phone while they swim. if your kid can't swim you need to be in the water with them, or at the very absolute least sitting on the edge ready to jump in. you know your child better and when they are in distress a lot sooner than i do.
* if i think i hear thunder, dont argue with me. if it *was* a plane, we will re-open in 20 minutes. is 20 minutes of your kid swimming really worth risking your child's life in case it is thunder?
* floaties/water wings/those stupid suits with foam crap in them are dangerous. they are NOT a subsitute for you watching your kids. think about it: how do you get the water wings to "slip on"?? wet them? and then you put them in water again and expect them to stay indefinately? and those floaties and suits can eaasily over turn and next thing you know your kid has its head underwater and its feet above the water.
* ditto for noodles. they are slippery for a child and when they slip off them, which happens ALL THE TIME they sink like rocks.
* just because you dont have to clean the bathrooms doesnt mean they magically get cleaned. they are clean because the lifeguards, instead of tending to more important matters (like being on deck as an extra pair of eyes on your kid) they are cleaning. the pool can be closed because of clogged toilets. so if you flush your sanitary stuff down there and clogg all the toilets, we have to close.
* ditto for trash on the deck
* dont chew gum. thats asking to choke.
* set an example for your kids! follow the rules. they are there for a reason.
* no eating or smoking while you are in the pool! thats just gross.
* let your kid digest after eating. when your kid pukes we close the pool
* on that note, water diapers AND those rubber pants are required here. if fecal matter gets in the pool it MUST be closed for at least 8 hours (1 turnover cycle)
* band-aids off! they do fall off in the water, and they are nasty to clean up. notto mention the risk of of us getting sick. that aside, they can really mess up the system and cause the fintering system (read: the stuff you dont see that keeps the pool clean) to possibly break. which in turn, again, leads to the pool closing down
a very long post. dedicated to gretch cause i know how much you like to have my long ramblings when im not online :)

today was a rought one. good thing cvs had 6 packs of water for $2.50. fireworks were awesome - tho i think some of the heads might have peed in thier pants when we lit "the big one." the good news is that i saw a couple heads i haven't seen in a hot minute, found a new favorite drink, and everyone has all thier fingers. :) bad news is i stayed up till 5:30am and had to be up at 9am. not good planning. frank's friends are such a trip tho.
lucas came up to the pool. i almost kept calling him lucious cause im so used to kevin calling lucious 'lucas'. he's a cute kid, but constantly gets off topic with a story or some line of questions. i feel bad since his dad is paying me to teach him to swim, not to try to explain to him when 8pm is.
other than taking naps and playing phone tag with gretchen, nothin much new. its crazy humid - i hope it rains. (note to 'up there': by "rain" i mean like isolated thunderstorm that goes away in a couple hours, not monsoon season. )
time to pass out. 6 days till artsfest (for me), and 5 days till my mom's b day!! im excited. nite kids

this weekend was nice - got free pizza from the grimes. :) and i made a ashtry for the pool. i put pictures of butts on it. haha get? its "very bling blinging baby."
i also had these really cool sunglasses thanks to lucious. we get the best pickings of the lost and found. So i wore them all weekend and on sunday this woman came up to me and asked if we had anything that wasnt in the lost in found - she said she was looking for some sunglasses. i had to give them up :( but the lady did say they were on sale so i might have to go get me some. :)
Only 10 more days till i goto psu! i'm driving up with shar, so that should be fun.
Before I go, happy birthday to my girl gretchen :) have a great 21st!!! wish i could be there to celebrate with you :( miss ya
